What to do in Odaiba and Toyosu

Odaiba overlooks Tokyo Bay and offers shopping centres, restaurants, museums and a theme spa park.

In Toyosu one can see the new fish market, replacing the one in Tsukiji.

How to get to Odaiba

To get to Odaiba you can use the Yurikamome Line train, water buses or the JR Rinkai Line.

To get to Odaiba you can use the Yurikamome. Get off at the JR station of the Yamanote Line or the Keihan Tohoku Line or at the Shimbashi underground station (G08 Ginza Line – Tokyo Metro or A10 Asakusa Line – Toei) or take the underground, Yurakucho Line and get off at the Toyosu stop (Y22), from there take the Yurikamome.

An alternative way is to reach Odaiba by water bus from Asakusa. From Odaiba there is also the Rinkai Line which runs from Osaki (on the Yamanote Line or the Saikyo Line from Shinjuku) and passes through Odaiba stopping at the Tokyo Teleport and Kokusai Tenjijo stations. The Rinkai Line, although used by JR, is not included in the Japan Rail Pass.

To get to Toyosu Fish Market you can take the Yurikamome from Shimbashi or Toyosu and get off at the Shijomae stop.

Toyosu station is connected to the Toyosu underground station on the Yurakucho Line.

Toyosu Market

Toyosu Market is the largest wholesale fish market in Tokyo, known for its wide selection of fresh fish and seafood. It was opened in 2018, replacing the famous Tsukiji Fish Market. In addition to the many fish stalls, the market also offers a variety of fruits, vegetables and other food products. It is a fascinating place to visit, where you can immerse yourself in Japanese food culture and buy fresh ingredients for cooking.

IMPORTANT: The observatory next to the tuna auction area is accessible by 3 groups of 40 people each per day. Each group has 10 minutes, between 5:45 and 6:15. To participate in the auction, you must apply at this site.

The request must be sent at the beginning of the previous month, participants will be decided by drawing lots.

Rainbow Bridge
