How to get to Naoshima

Ferry

The island of Naoshima is served by two harbours, Honmura in the east and Miyanoura.

The two ports are connected by a ferry to the town of Uno. You can reach Uno by JR train from Okayama in about 50 minutes (included in the Japan Rail Pass).

The port of Miyanoura is also connected to Takamatsu.

The ferry from Uno takes between 15 and 20 minutes. The cost of the ferry is 300 Yen one way and 570 Yen return.

Getting around Naoshima

The main museums and art installations are located on the southern coast of the island. They can be reached by buses connecting the two ports and the southern part. There are 1 or 2 buses per hour and the ticket costs 100 Yen.

If you wish, you can also rent a bicycle at Miyanoura harbour at a cost of 500 Yen for normal bikes and 1500 Yen for electric bikes.
