The Nagoya metro
The Nagoya metro consists of 6 lines, one of which is a circular line (Meijo line). The cost of the ticket, as in other subways, varies depending on the distance travelled, from 210 Yen to 340 Yen.
There are various day passes ranging from 620 Yen (for the pass valid on weekends and public holidays), 760 Yen for the 24-hour pass for the metro alone to 870 Yen for the day pass that also includes buses.
Even on the Nagoya underground, the ticket is used both to enter and exit. If you bought a ticket for a shorter journey than you actually travelled, you can pay the difference at the ‘Fare adjustment’ machines before exiting the turnstiles. You can also use the main IC Cards such as Suica, Pasmo, Icoca, Toica, etc.
