How to get to Nagasaki

Treno JR (Shinkansen+Relay Kamome+Shinkansen)

From Kyoto, Shin-Osaka or Hiroshima take the Shinkansen to Hakata (Fukuoka) (2 hours 26 minutes from Kyoto). From here take the JR Relay Kamome Limited Express train to Takeo-Onsen (1 hour), from here take the Shinkansen to Nagasaki (25 minutes).
The cost of the ticket from Fukuoka is 6050 Yen (non-reserved seat)

Trains are included in the Japan Rail Pass.

Plane

The city can be reached by plane from Tokyo in about 2 hours with ANA, JAL and Solaseed Air.
The airport is about 45 minutes from the city centre, which can be reached by bus (800 Yen).

Nagasaki can also be reached from Fukuoka airport by taking the JR Kamome Limited Express train from Hakata station.

How to get around Nagasaki

Streetcars

Nagasaki is served by four tram lines. There are trams that run every 5-8 minutes and the service runs from 6am to 11pm. When taking the tram, you get on at the rear door and get off at the front door by paying the fare next to the driver.
A single ride costs 140 Yen, while a day pass costs 600 Yen. There is also a pass that costs 700 Yen and lasts 24 hours.
