How to get to Kamakura

JR Yokosuka Line train

Take this train at Tokyo Station or Shinagawa. In about 1 hour and at a cost of 950 Yen, the train takes you to Kamakura (or the previous station of Kita-Kamakura)

JR Shonan Shinjuku Line train

You can take this train at Ikebukuro, Shinjuku or Shibuya which arrives in Kamakura in about 1 hour and costs 950 Yen. Not all trains are direct and you will probably have to change trains at Ofuna station.

JR Tokaido Line Train

You can take this train at Tokyo Station or Shinagawa and change at Ofuna. The ticket costs 950 Yen.

Odakyu Railways

The train leaves Shinjuku and arrives in Katase-Enoshima in about 70 minutes for 650 Yen. In Enoshima you have to take the Enoden train to Kamakura (25 minutes – 260 Yen). You can buy the Enoshima Kamakura Free Pass for 1640 Yen. The pass includes roundtrip travel from Shinjuku to Enoshima and unlimited use of the Enoden line from Enoshima to Kamakura.

NOTE: the Enoden line runs from the Hasa stop, a short walk from the Daibutsu (Great Buddha).
