Hiroshima
Hiroshima is located on the western part of the island of Honshu. It is infamous for the dropping of the first atomic bomb on 6 August 1945 during World War II. In memory of this event, one can see what remains of the chamber of commerce building (A-Bomb Dome).
In the vicinity of the epicentre of the bomb explosion is the Peace Park and Museum. A 30-minute train ride away is Miyajima Island.
One of the typical dishes is okonomiyaki.
