Hakodate
Hakodate is a city located in Hokkaido Prefecture, Japan, famous for its panoramic views from Hakodate Mountain and its delicious local food. The city also offers a variety of attractions, such as the Goryokaku Fort, a star-shaped structure that offers an impressive spectacle during the cherry blossom in spring.
The historic district of Motomachi retains many European-style houses built during the Meiji period, while the nearby Hakodate Station is famous for its Russian-style architecture. The city is also famous for its local delicacies including crab soup, kaisendon (a bowl of rice with sliced fish) and sakura shrimp (small pink shrimp).
