Mount Fuji and Five Lakes
Mount Fuji is undoubtedly one of the most iconic symbols of Japan. Located in the Five Lakes region of Yamanashi Prefecture, Mount Fuji is an active volcano that rises majestically to a height of 3,776 metres.
This mountain fascinates visitors with its perfectly conical shape and imposing profile. Every year, millions of people travel from all over the world to climb Mount Fuji and enjoy the spectacular view from the top.
During the ascent, visitors can admire the beauty of the surrounding nature, including the Five Lakes, coniferous forests and lush plains. At the top, they can enjoy the breathtaking sunrise or sunset, which offer a unique perspective of the land and sea.
Mount Fuji is also celebrated in Japanese literature and art, and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2013. Its majesty and timeless beauty continue to inspire and fascinate people of all ages and cultures.
The ‘ascent’ to Mount Fuji is possible from early July to early September.
